I have/had a resellers account with hostgator and have been very satisfies with their service. The severs are fast especially when you run CMS software like WordPress or Drupal. I also had an account with IX Web Hosting and it always too like 30 seconds to view the first page of a WordPress site. On Host Gator it was almost as fast as a static page.

The only drawback I found with Host Gator is their security policy of their billing system. Although they have recently upgraded the system and now finally have the possibility to use symbols in your password, I still find it quite a security issue that your billing account password is displayed on the profile landing page and that there are billing employees who have access to view your password. In their opinion it shouldn't be an issue that these people have access to your credit card details.
